My son (4-years-old) and I were on our way home from shopping. While driving past the cemetery my son said, “Is that the place where dead people live?”
It made me chuckle.

Childhood, yesterday, what’s the difference really?

I was volunteering in a 4 and 5 year old Sunday school class when I heard one girl singing “Barbara Manatee” a VeggieTales song. Another girl went up to her and asked her how she knew that song. She replied, “I don’t know, from my childhood I guess.”

Merry Christmas

My preschool class is composed of both English and Spanish speaking 4 year olds. Yesterday one of the English speakers came up to me and said “Why did the police shoot his dog?” Becoming a little worried I went up to the Spanish speaking child and heard him singing “Feliez Navidad”. I think there was a translation problem.

Buckle up for safety

When my children were young we had a couple cassettes of “Psalty the Singing Songbook” for the car. While driving once, we were listening to one and the tape went…
Psalty: “When people make fun of you because you are Christian, you can either pretend that you aren’t a Christian, OR you can stand up for Jesus. Jimmy, are you going to stand up for Jesus?”
Jimmy: “I’ll stand up for Jesus.”
Psalty: “What about you Sarah, with you stand up for Jesus?”
Sarah: “Yes, I’ll stand up for Jesus too.”
It was at this point that I asked my daughter…
Me: “Well Stefanie, will you stand up for Jesus?”
Stefanie: Crying, hysterical, and tugging at her car seat “I c-c-can’t… I’m all buckled in!”

You better watch it

I was talking to a little girl in my Sunday school class.
Me: “So what did you do yesterday, what happened?”
Her: “We walked to the playground and played for a long time, and then came home. And then my parents were in the kitchen and started arguing. Then I heard my mom say ‘you better watch it.’ ”
Me: ” ‘You better watch it?’ Watch what?”
Her: “That’s what I wondered. I think she was talking about American Idol because we like watching that show.”
